Mock Cable Afghan

This is an afghan I have been working on for the last year. I really enjoy the rhythm of this pattern. However, it is taking so long to get it done that I find I put it away and work on other quick projects. I always enjoy coming back to it though.

Basket Weave Shawl

This is a shawl that I am about 1/3 of the way finished. It is done in a basket weave pattern with a garter border around the edges.
I am using Caron Simply Soft in the color; Bone on size 8 knitting needles.
I don't have a pattern for this, I was playing with a pattern that I had used for a scarf and widened it in order to make a shawl.
This is what I have done:
CO 110
Row 1-5: K across
Rows 6-10: *K5 P5* repeat across the row, ending in K last 5 stitches
Rows 11-15: K5 *P5 K5* repeat across the row; ending in K the last 5 stitches
For rows 16-20; repeat instructions for rows 6-10, and for rows 21-25 repeat instructions for rows 11-15. Continue to alternate until you have the length of shawl you want.
Then for the last 5 rows knit across each row. Bind off and weave in the loose ends.
